1. Introduction
Welcome to the BeST Organization and Communication System (the “Platform”), accessible through https://best-ust.org and https://bestkolars.org. This Platform is owned and operated by UST – Becarios de Santo Tomas, a recognized university-wide student organization of the University of Santo Tomas and the premier scholars’ association of the University.
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the system.
2. Purpose of the Platform
The Platform is designed to:
- Facilitate communication among BeST members
- Manage organizational announcements and activities
- Provide an official digital space for scholars’ engagement
The Platform is intended for official organizational and academic use only.
3. Eligibility
The Platform is intended for registered members of Becarios de Santo Tomas and authorized university stakeholders. This Platform is not offered to individuals under the age of 13.
4. User Accounts and Responsibilities
To access certain features, users must create an account and provide accurate information, including Full Name, UST Email Address, and Password.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials, all activities conducted under their account, and ensuring information provided is accurate and up to date. The organization reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Collection of Personal Information
The Platform collects personal information solely for identity verification, communication purposes, and system access/management. The Platform also uses tracking technologies such as cookies, local storage, and session data to ensure system functionality, security, and performance.
6. Acceptable Use
Users agree NOT to share login credentials with others, upload false, harmful, or unauthorized content, use the Platform for non-organizational or illegal purposes, or attempt to disrupt system security or operations.
7. Intellectual Property & Liability
All content on the Platform is owned by Becarios de Santo Tomas and may not be reproduced without permission. The organization is not liable for unauthorized access due to user negligence, temporary system downtime, or technical errors beyond reasonable control.
Privacy Policy
In accordance with RA 10173 Section 2, the Declaration of Policy, the Data Privacy Act of 2012:
“The policy of the State to protect the fundamental human right of privacy, of communication while ensuring free flow of information to promote innovation and growth. The State recognizes the vital role of information and communications technology in nation-building and its inherent obligation to ensure that personal information in information in communications systems in the government and in the private sector are secured and protected.”
Therefore, all personal information and responses collected on this system registration process will be treated with utmost confidentiality and strictly be discussed within the restriction of the organization's Board of Officers. Rest assured that none of your answers will be publicly disclosed by any means, reasons, nor intentions.
Herewith, you acknowledge that by completing this form, you are giving your consent for your personal data to be collected, processed, and stored by Becarios de Santo Tomas solely for system registration, account management, and official organizational communications in strict compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
